World Book Day 2013

Hello! I'm back to the world of blogging, although I did do a little with wordpress.com.

Well I've just celebrated World Book Day! It was a fabulous day, which I spent with Tenbury Wells Primary School. All the children were dressed up as their favourite book characters, there were lots of Alice in Wonderlands, Harry Potters, Pirates etc... and a few I didn't recognise -but I didn't like to say!

I read three chapters from my latest book The Vegetarian Vampire: Halloween Disco. The children then had to make up their own characters and make a story. We did lots of mind mapping ;-) on characteristics, and funnily enough a Vampire's favourite food often seemed to come from Mac Donalds!

Some of the children's idea's were great! One lad's Vampire collected toe clipping's in a tub, another boy's character was in the Army and ate his enemy's eye balls (Humm... I didn't want to upset this lad!)One little girls Vampire was the most beautiful Vampire in the world, and everyone wanted to marry her!

It was a wonderful day, and as World Book Day is so special, I had to visit another school (Bayton Primary)on the 8th to continue the fun! It should be World Book Week!
